Critical M1 Abrams Tank Products
Over the last three years, our team has been delivering critical M1 Abrams Tank products. This long-term project requires consistent and airtight processes along with thorough inspections.
A project of this size highlights the benefits of our modular sub-tables and custom modular fixtures. The modular tools ensure every repeat part gets set up the same way each time. This job repeats 20 times per month, so these modular tools come in handy. The quality standards on this job are strict, and for that reason, we have to inspect at every point in the machining process.
Repeat Production of Precision Waterjet & Hi-Def Plasma Machines
Napoleon Machine produces 30 tanks and Y-axis rails per month for one of the world’s highest quality OEM high-def plasma machine builders. Each tank has linear guide rails that require CNC machining to a tolerance of .002 over 14 to 18 feet (5.49 meters).Â
These machines vary in size, making our modular weld system and machining fixtures even more critical. While each tank varies in size, they are similar in design. When it comes to this type of production work, we equipped to win. Tools like the BLUCO FRS and custom fixtures play a significant role in reducing costs and improving quality.
Custom Boring Mill Products
We partnered with a customer to build this precision boring mill used to make missiles for the US military. This aerospace machine required tight tolerance CNC machining. Napoleon Machine produced the mainframe, column, base, gearbox, and linear guide rail surfaces. The base and extension combined to equal over 50,000 lbs.
Our team delivered all products with zero defects and on time. When working on DoD projects, at any level, there isn’t any room for errors. Contractors like Napoleon Machine must supply inspection reports on all GD&T. We build quality into every process to prevent issues from happening during the process.
